Issue #005
Master directors and storytellers fill this issue while leaving room for an article on a potential virtuoso. It's about time we cover some of Alfred Hitchcock's works. We certainly have to start now if we're going to discuss all of his classics. Rod Serling, the best storyteller of anyone's time, comes to Blu-ray for the penultimate time with the final season of The Twilight Zone. Then his influence spans over to Steven Spielberg who is featured in the "Behind-the-Scenes" column. But the new guy in town is the Australian filmmaker who presents us with a wonderful short film as part of our "Special Feature".
Issue #004
At the heart of this site is a love for the movies that no other site bothers to review, discuss, or celebrate anymore. This week we're taking a calculated step towards honoring those films with a review of a sci-fi classic through and through, behind-the-scenes of one of the most iconic monster make-ups ever, and much more. Join us in remembering childhood favorites with the new releases and by taking a look back at the best franchises to span both TV and film.
Issue #003
Like a little bit of everything that movies have to offer? So do we. That's why this week we're covering our movie topics like a genre attention deficit disorder kid. Whatever Butch and Sundance don't satisfy surely one of John Hughes' characters will. The "film" crowd can enjoy a new Criterion Collection release and everyone should check out the article pitting stadium seating vs. standard for the sake of our theater's future.
Issue #002
Fate decided that the sequel week for CineWeekly would be a double dose of Disney. From the excellent variety of new releases to the movie of the week, we're celebrating some of Walt's classics (even though he had no personal involvement in either of them). But for those who like it a little manlier or monstrous, we have some nice Ray Harryhausen behind-the-scenes shots and an article on the surprising age of the Road Warrior in relation to today's leading men.
Issue #001
Welcome to the first issue of CineWeekly, your source for nostalgic movie reviews and articles. Every Tuesday, four editors will present separate columns discussing only the best films from the past. Start off with A Movie A Week for reviews of your favorite movies. Our DVD / Blu Review features the "Pick of the Week" along with the latest releases. Get a Behind-the-Scenes look with rare photos, "making of…" videos, and interviews. Lastly, the Special Feature column is your wild card each week with topics ranging from "Best of…" lists to "Netflix Queue-riosities".
