For our second installment of "Netflix Queue-riosities", I give you an October tradition that the whole family can participate in. Christmas has all the Rankin/Bass claymation specials but Halloween got one of the best with Mad Monster Party. All the monsters and ghouls of the Universal Monster movies are here and they're about as scary as a Scooby-Doo cartoon and equally fun. But that's what the kids need sometimes. That and a bunch of horror-themed songs with catchy 60's pop beats. Best of all, it's available below the trailer on Netflix Instant streaming.
Starring Boris Karloff and Phyllis Diller (who also cameoed in Scooby-Doo), Mad Monster Party is just a good, laid-back time among the tense horror of other holiday classics. It doesn't get as much attention as it should, possibly because the dated musical numbers but it may be the title you've been missing out on all these years. Click below to see it on Netflix.
